Time-travelling Witch Morgan Macavity arrives at the Old Toad Inn, an Essex craft brewery, through a portal from the land of Wyvern. She has brought along her dragon Familiar (disguised as a broomstick) and a small crystal wand (that looks like a Christmas ornament).
Eager to find out all she can about the brewer’s daughter, Ruby, Morgan introduces herself enthusiastically to Ruby’s family.
The only problem: Morgan is the spitting image of Ruby, who disappeared one week ago after the mysterious death of a local taxidermist. Is she Ruby? Has she gone mad? And why did the taxidermist claim to have the tail of a dragon in his trophy collection?
